My French Life Begins!

I finally made it to France!

The past 37 days I have been traveling with just a backpack around Turkey, Belgium, France, Portugal, and Greece. I finally reunited with friends I made 2 years ago while studying abroad in the north of France. During my travels I had a wonderful time catching up and laughing with these pals. It was as if we never parted! Even when we're living on the opposite side of the world from one another, I know our friendship is near and dear to our hearts. Postcards, letters, and skype chats allow us to forget about the distance. In some cities I stayed in hostels where I met some amazing people who are following their passions. There is a unique, liberating, and pretty undescribable atmosphere in places full of people who are doing what they love. Hostels are filled with this spark.

As of now, I am living with a french family in the south of France. I am located in a village outside of a city called Montpellier and a 15 minute bike ride from the Mediterranean. Yeah I'm fully aware, I'm living an awesome life! I chose it...duhh! But hey, you can choose and work towards what you want to do too! I will be living here for the next month as I take part in this cultural exchange. This family consists of five people, one 15 year old girl and two 18 year old boys. In exchange for living here and being part of the family, I teach the children english for 15 hours a week.  It has only been my fourth full day here and I already feel like I'm a part of the family! I am so happy to be here and I'm looking forward to the rest of my stay!
